Teachers participated of the 1º National Workshop on GEODESY

Friday, April 22, 2016

The professors Claudia Infante y Lucrecia Galván of College Sciencies and Technologies, participated 14 th to 16 th april in headquarters CONICET, in La Plata, of "First National Workshop of Observatory Argentine-German of Geodesy" (AGGO, for your acronym in english). It has the goal, the exchange of ideas e information between professionals from this orderliness in our country, also they established action plans joins, oriented to take advantage del AGGO in actual topics of Geodesy.

The act started headed for the director of Scientist Technological Centre (CCT) CONICET La Plata, Luis Epele and had the presence the President of University National of La Plata (UNLP), Raúl Perdomo, the vice president of Comision of Scientist Investigations of province de Buenos Aires (CICPBA), Luis Traversa, The Director of operations and Technical responsable of Germany del AGGO, Hayo Hase; the coordinator of net Argentine for study of atmospheric Upper (RAPEAS), Marta Mosert, and the director of Geographic National Institute (IGN) Sergio Cimbaro.

During your exposition, Elepe highlighted the enormous potential of equipment of AGGO, to the scientist national comunity.

To Start the workshop, the Scientist General Coordinator del AGGO, Claudio Brunini, he suggested to the Scientist Argentine Comunity linked with the Geodesy, to take advantage the data generated for the observatory. The workshop developed in three steps: 1. presentation to expose interests. 2 identification of common interests, conformation of groups of discussion about the bases of related interests and elaboration of proposals. 3 plenary discussion of groupal purposes and roadmap with necessary actions to specific proyects.

As result of workshop, it signed a commitment to colaboration and help, between institutions, of all activities en the frame of observatory AGGO .

For our teachers, the experience was "highly beneficial and motivator, by the challenges in our country with an unique observatory for sud america, that will offer geodesic data of high quality scientist"

The Geodesy is the science to measure with precission and understand three fundamental properties of earth: your geometric way, your orientation in the space and your gravity field; and the change of this properties on the time (Precise Geodetic Infrastructure: National Requirements for a Shared Resource, 2010).

About el AGGO

The Observatory Argentine-German of Geodesy (AGGO)

The Observatory Argentine-German of Geodesy (AGGO) belongs to CONICET and it is an joint initiative with the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy of Germany (BKG). Is the contribution of both countries, to international net of geodesics instruments, that support the global infrastructure of spacial data and contribute to scanning the tectonics processes and the global changes.

The observatory gathers all the measure techniques of the modern geodesy, was developed and built in germany with a investment of twenty millons euros, as well as the works of infrastructura was addressed for CONICET with a cost near to ten millons pesos.

It located en property of Parq Pereyra Iraola (La Plata), to 800 meters of property of Argentine Institute of Radioastronomy.

The programmed goals to AGGO found:

* Development strategy to mitigate the effects of earthquakes in the framework of regional and international references.

*To Model seasonal variations caused for differents processes of load, in the position of regional and international stations.

* Include gravimetrics measures and field of variable gravity of the interpretation of deformations of earth crust.

Is the unique in Latinoamerica, has instruments for aplication of techniques VLBI, SLR, GNSS, absolute gravimeter and relative and atomic watches of pressure.
