PROFESSIONAL PROFILE OF A GRADUATE:

Maintains a profile approved by Resolution 481/90 of the National Ministry of Justice and Education, detailed in continuation.

A graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems is a professional who possesses:

  • Basic knowledge (computational and mathematical knowledge), for an adequate theoretical foundation of her/his specific professional know-how.  Deep knowledge, among others, over Theory of Systems, Theory of Information and Communication, that permits the implementation of design and application of Information Systems and Models. A solid preparation in methodology of scientific investigation and over processes and practices that permit to investigate in the area of Systems of Information and analyze and interpret her/his field of application.

Is trained to:

  • accomplish Works of investigation, not only at a basic level such as the application in the field that is specific to his professional competencies.  Participate with other specialists in his discipline, in the selection and configuration of Systems of Computation, according to requirements of distinct area of application.  Analyze and select the structure of data, needed for different Systems of Information.  Comprehend, predict and justify the behavior of the Systems of Information.  Design and apply Systems of Information to different types of organizations that have different structures.

  • Has a flexible attitude to integrate multidisciplinary teams in the development and administration of projects in applied informatics.

  • Has a critical behavior in front of his proper know-how and to evaluate the repercussions that represents the development of informatics based on an anthropological and sociological points of view.

  • Demonstrate a creative attitude in the search of original responses in the fields of basic and applied investigations that are specific to the field of Information Sciences. 

PROFESIONAL ACTIVITIES RESERVED TO THE DEGREE OF BACHELOR IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS

According to a resolution issued by the National Ministry of Education Nr.  786/09, the professional activities reserved to the degree of Bachelor in Information Systems are:

  • Plan, direct, realize and or evaluate projects that reduce real world problems.  Formal Specification, Design, Implementation, proof, Verification, validation, maintenance and control of quality of Software Systems that are executed over systems of data processing.

  • Organize, direct and control the Information technology aspect of the organizations, selecting and training the technical personnel of the same group.

  • Direct the implementation of analysis of functional processes of an organization, with the objective to direct design projects associated with Systems of Information, as well as systems of Software that make possible their functioning.  Determine, regulate and administer the operational trends and rules of control that make the functioning of the information areas of companies and organizations.

  • Understand, plan and/or participate in the technical and economic studies of feasibility and/or sources of references that are destined for the configuration and shape the processing of information systems. Supervise the implantation of information systems and organize and train the relevant staff of these systems.

  • Establish metrics and norms of quality and security of software, while controlling the same objectives in order to have an industrial product that respects the national and international norms. Control the formal specification of a product, of the design process, development, implementation and maintenance.

  • Establishment of validation metrics and quality certification.

  • Plan, direct, realize and or evaluate security systems in the storing and processing of information.  Realize the specification, design, development, implementation and maintenance of information security components embedded in the physical systems and in the software of application systems.  Establish and control the method of data processing oriented towards security, including data ware houses.

  • Ensure the tasks of the auditor of information systems.  Articulate verdicts, fees, all abilities that are related to Information Systems.

  • Plan, direct, accomplish and/or evaluate projects of systems of administration towards specific resources that belong to the same group, design, implement, test, verify, validate, maintain and control the efficiency and quality of systems of administration and of resources that are implanted as software about the systems of data processing.

  • Analyze and evaluate specific projects, design, implement, verify, place into order, maintain and update systems of data processing.

  • Fulfill tasks as a University Professor of Information Sciences at every level, according to the hierarchy of the maximum academic degree that s/he has earned.  Accomplish teaching role in the specialty of all educational levels.  Plan and develop courses of continuing education and training in General Systems/Systems of Information.

  • Implement scientific and applied research in the areas of Software Systems and systems of Information, participating as a recipient of scholarships, Investigative Professor or Scientific/Technological Investigator.  Direct projects, labs, centers and institutes of research and development in Information Sciences while oriented to the areas of Systems and Systems of Information.
