Recalling the step of the Gral. San Martin by Santiago

On 29 May 1814, the General Don Jose de San Martin came to the Posta de Ayuncha (Loreto Department), on his return to Cordoba because of health problems. On the occasion of the bicentenary of that date, a delegation of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technologies are moved to the town to accompany to the inhabitants of the area at the ceremony in commemoration of the bicentenary of his step by this place, whom we remember today.

According to date. The documents, on that occasion the father of the homeland was returning from the front to fight in the north, sick and accompanied by your doctor, with destination to Cordoba just to take care of their health; when they arrived at the Posta de Ayuncha, to pause in its journey. This Posta was essential for travellers of the time that had to face the harsh climate and geography of the Salinas, by 150 Km. until the next Posta, proving it the most extensive stretch between postas from Buenos Aires to Cuzco. The Posta de Ayuncha was known as "The entry of the voyage".

To commemorate the bicentennial, the educational community held a ceremony attended by government authorities of the locality, the School No. 969 and nearby schools, and by the Faculty, in the Dean Engineer Héctor Peace, Secretary of extension, Linkage and Transfer Ing. Maria Teresita Pilán, Raúl Pérez Molina teacher of the Chair of systems of representation, next to assistants of the chair and the students of the School, also members of the Board of Directors of Santiago Diversity.

As an important part of the event, was left opened a monolith reminder of the step of the Gral. San Martin; another emotional moment was the touch of silence with trumpet, for the part of the agent of the music of the Band from the Police of the Province, Cape Raul Figueroa. He stood out among the attendees, the presence of a former Grenadier to horse and rider of a grouping Gaucha that on many occasions, formed part of the Cavalcade Sanmartiniana that is held annually since the Posta de Manogasta to Santiago del Estero, in 17 August.

The charge of giving the words of welcome, was the Director of the school no. 969 Prof. Mirta Umaño of Soria, who referred to the inauguration of the monolith. Subsequently also spoke our Dean, who referred to the events that occurred in the step of San Martin for Ayuncha, the coincidence of nearby stays with the Gral. Belgrano on 25 May 1814, and the concept of homeland. Also during the ceremony was carried out the delivery of awards to texts, drawings, poems and acrostic referred to step of General by the town. By our empowers, was delivered a testimonial plate to the Commissioner of the Noria Mr Carlos Landriel. And concluded the act with a number of artistic traditional dance of the era.

Subsequently, the retinue and invited to the event were admitted to the School for there to present the web page of Santiago (www.santiagodiversidad.com), Diversity in order to publicize its origin, objective and activity that develops this project of the Faculty; was also given to the present, pamphlets of dissemination to participate of Santiago Diversity.
