ICT Courses for Secondary Level Teachers

In accordance to the program "University Articulation and High School Teaching - Improving Education in Natural Sciences" , the Virtual University Center, part of the College of Sciences and Technologies, offered a course on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), aimed at teachers of Secondary Level, on September 22, 25 and 29. This course was moderated by Prof. Isabel Velazquez de Reyes, Prof. Saritha Graciela Figueroa and Prof. Veronica Elizabeth Leiva.  In addition, they collaborated with local teachers of Computer Science, students of Special Didactics, Teaching Practice Professional II, and others. 

This training was organized in response to the demand and need for training in the subject, thereby facilitating the functions and performance of the College and the University. These events will update knowledge and preparation of teachers, in "the Information Technology and Communication (ICT) it became part of an organization, and in education, have transformed the ways and means in which it is generated, managed and disseminated information and knowledge. Teachers' training is no stranger to this situation, and there is great need to organize such events." 

During the course, concepts related to the didactics use of the laptop were addressed; information technology in education, new learning environments; Model 1 to 1; network in the classroom and at the school, Internet, among others.

As explained by the Director of the CUV, Prof. Saritha  Figueroa, "The course work has the following objectives so that teachers may implement a strategy and mediate a teaching curriculum to real learning situation, aimed at producing didactic pedagogical innovation and digital resources; and transfer basic concepts covered in the training course towards the design and organization of a proposed real teaching for curricular digital resources." 
The training was used by many teachers.
