Saturday, August 15, 2015

With the current establishment of the Nuclear Medicine Lab in the Provice of Santiago del Estero, the National University of Santiago del Estero and the College of Exact Sciences and Technologies are preparing to train Human Resources for specific tasks in the maintenance and operation of special equipment, that are utilized in such a lab of great complexity. In this context, the authorities of the College are working together with the National University of San Martin in order to make possible the curriculum of two new associate degrees and a postgraduate degree in this field. They are: associate degree in Diagnosis based on images and associate degree in electro medicine, both to be taught at the campus in Santiago del Estero; additionally there will be the specialization of Physics in Nuclear Medicine, with headquarters in San Martin (province of Buenos Aires). The students of these academic majors are in great demand for these types of centers.

Recently there are measures being taken to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between both universities, since the above mentioned academic careers are taught at the National University of San Martin; in order to draft the respective agreement between the School of Science and Technology (ECyT) of UNSAM and the College of Exact Sciences and Technologies (FCEyT). For the implementation of this agreement, Vice Dean of FCEyT Ing. Pedro Basualdo and the Under-Secretary of Graduate Affairs of UNSE, Dra. Ana Gabriela Questa, had a meeting last week in San Martin, with Dr. Franscisco Parisi, Dean of ECyT; Dr. Alejandro Valda, Director of Specialization career in Nuclear Physics and Lic. Amalia Perez, Director of the Health Physics Program.

It must be noted that UNSE is in the process to begin the career policies of these Associates’ degrees, during the current cuatri-mester; these programs are destined for graduates of technical schools and secondary schools in general, also students and professors of engineering that are interested in this subject. Therefore such a specialization is directed to the engineers of electronics and electro-mechanic fields and to engineers that have the required academic degrees in the same field.

For more information reach out to the receptionist office of the College of Exact Sciences and Technologies, or the Under-secretary of Postgraduate studies at UNSE, in the hours between 8:00AM-12:00PM
