On Friday, July 31st, in the Main Auditorium of the University was held the launching of a training course of Computer Programming and pertinent Educational Practices, within the framework of Program.AR”, that is designed for professors of all disciplines at the high school level, who are interested in the teaching of programming; with the sole purpose to awaken the learning interest to students in the field of Computer Science and raise a deep conscience to the society in general about the importance that is associated to these concepts.
It is worth noting that UNSE is the only university in NOA, in charge of giving such a training course, in which there were participating professors from the Provinces of Salta (Rosario de la Frontera and EET Nr. 3132); Province of Tucuman (the Secondary School “Dr. Mariano de Las Talitas”); Province of Catamarca (Quiros La Paz School) and teachers from schools in the Province of Santiago del Estero (Villa Atamisqui, Estacion Robles, El Arenal, Villa Rio Hondo, Guardia Escolta, Colonia Dora, Puesto Retiro, Garza, La Banda, Bandera, Fernandez and Nueva Francia)
The opening event was moderated by Dean of the College Eng. Hector Ruben Paz, Director of the Department of Information Sciences Dra. Elena Duran and Lic. Pablo Matias Factorovich, a representative of the Sadosky Foundation, who is the person in charge of the teachers’ training in our College.
In his welcoming remarks, Eng. Hector Paz stated: “it is an honor for this university, to welcome those who will be trained on how to train, in such a great adventure that is inaugurated today in order to instill early interests to our teenagers, in the further study of programming. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Production Innovation, has detected the need to allocate additional well trained human resources in Programming and through the Sadosky Foundation it has implemented this training program. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the leadership of UNSE and to all teachers from Northern Argentina (NOA). Also I would like to express a special gratitude to the leaders of educational institutions that are present here today for their great support, because thanks to such a team work we can accomplish the sought after noble objective of educating kids, teenagers, youngsters and sharing knowledge with all those who teach us. It is clear to us that for every professor who is present in this event there is a substitute who is covering all of your vacancies created due to your participation in this course, there is a team under all of your leadership that supports the institutional growth that begins with a training course given to those who will train and educate others.
Dean Hector Paz added: Also I would like to express my gratitude to the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Nation Government and in particular to the Sadosky Foundation, that has trusted in us, in approving this project, so that we can continue to further be trained throughout Northern Argentina. The national government is offering an impressive support to all the academic programs focused in scientific and technological research: more than US$700 million have been invested in the recent years, in order to strengthen these academic careers and improve the teaching in this field.
Eng. Hector Paz emphasized: “We have also received an impressive support from the Provincial Government, through the Ministry of Education. Always the University would like to fulfill its mission of being a true educational institution, within our community. In this case, I think that the overall objective will be met. Everything is prepared so that these courses are a space of training, and a way to spread knowledge. Well, who else other than us professors, would be more prone to learn and simply become students all over again even if it is for just a brief time? I would like to wish all of you to enjoy this type of gatherings and consider this as a way to challenge yourself, that all of us; can build an adequate methodology in every school that we teach. The College of Exact Sciences and Technologies (FCEyT) wishes all of you a beneficial stay and I hope to meet with all of you in the closing ceremony of this course, in order to fulfill our duty in presenting to all of you the certificates of completion. ”
In his statement Lic. Factorovich noted: I would like to underscore the innovative work that is being done by UNSE; which is very satisfying just like any other innovation initiative which on the other hand requires tremendous efforts. The undertaking of this course is extremely valuable to us. In particular, I would like to express my appreciation for a great team work within the UNSE leaders, through the College of Exact Sciences and Technologies. In this context, among the ten universities that train new generations throughout the nation, we consider the UNSE as the best university that has showed impressive results in organizational skills. On the other hand, I would like to point out the role of leadership that is present here today and their contribution in this course. In general, they have a great importance in the Educational System, but in particular, in all related to innovation; for the support that is offered to the teachers, with the sole purpose of shifting such an innovation in education. We appreciate the presence of everyone here, and ask all of you to share this enthusiasm to all of those who are not here with us. The participation of all is fundamental in this important task.”
Subsequently, all participants were gathered at the Auditorium 22 of FCEyT and continued with the course of training until 5 PM.
