Maximiliano Celmo David Budán, a graduate with an Information Systems degree, a member of Academic Department of Mathematical Sciences, and a teacher of the College of Sciences and Technologies, a brillant Doctor in Computer Sciences, recieved a scholarship to pursue a post-doctorate program at the National University of the South.
While remembering the moment when he received his Doctorate Degree, Dr. Budan stated: “that was a very difficult day for me, it was a day when I had fullfilled an objective that required a lot of sacrifice, time and endeavor". The dissertation was presented on December 16th of 2015, then the exposition lasted one hour, the jury made a few questions, afterwards they expressed that Celmo's thesis was impeccable and they did not have any doubts.
Maximiliano, remembers with much pride the words of the jury " it was a privilege to read your thesis from the beginning to the end, this research is excellent and the contibutions made, are very significant to this area of study", the thesis had a score of 10 (outstanding).
However, this result wasn´t the best news for Dr. Budán, to further complete his happiness, he was notified that he had been selected for a post-doctoral scholaship to implement and refine his doctoral study at the National University of the South. This scholarship consists of two years in pure research, and there will be a research undertaken by National and Foreign Universities. This post doctoral scholarship will be under the direction of Dr. Guillermo Ricardo Simari, who will lead the project and with whom is doing research on important projects on Artificial Intelligence, together with international scholars.
In addition to this, Maximiliano initiated a research project with Dr. Laura Cobo, Dr. Diego Martinez, Dr. Sergio Gomez (all of them from the National University of the South), where they will expand and develop the use of research in the argumentative systems, and will focus particularly in the study of dynamic arguments while analyzing the effects of time in the systems and argumentative models. This way it will be possible to study certain problematic situations of the real world in real time.
It is important to note that Budan is the first Doctor in Computer Sciences and recipient of a Bachelors in Information Systems, it means, the first doctorate degree awarded by our College. He noted that very soon, will return in order to share his new knowledge in the local institutions. Our Academic Unit congratulates Dr. Budan for his accomplished objectives.
