The College of Exact Sciences and Technologies signed an MOU with the French Alliance (AF)

On Friday, August 21st, the Dean of the College of Exact Sciences and Technologies, Ing. Hector Paz and his deputy, Vice Dean, Ing. Pedro Basualdo, in representation of the Chancellor’s office, received a representation of the French Alliance that embarked in a working visit in Santiago del Estero. The delegation was led by Bruno Simonin, the educational delegate of the French Alliance Foundation of Paris in Argentina and Raoul Boellinger, Pedagogical Director of the entity in Buenos Aires, in company of the Director of local Alliance Prof. Laura Yague. In the meeting also participated the Secretary General of UNSE Ing. Claudia Degano, Mrs. Silvia del Valle Zuain, chair of the Center of Foreign Language Services of UNSE (CESELEX) and Ing. Francisco Ruiz who is the person in charge of coordinating scholarship programs to send the UNSE students to this country.

During this event, there were exchanged opinions about the interest of both institutions, to join forces in order to work for the benefit of knowledge and effective spread of French Culture. At the same time, the French Alliance is interested to promote the learning of French Language in universities, and has the intention to design courses not only to teach French but also promote study abroad programs in this country.

At the same time, the leaders of the College, agreed in that our students are ever more interested to pursue a scholarship opportunity abroad, and are prepared for such experiences. This is important to motivate them right at the first year of study, so that students are better prepared when deciding to study abroad. In regards to this initiative, the Educational Director of French Alliance stated: “Argentina is the third country in the world for its quantity of students studying in France. Today’s generations want to have a highly expanded vision and become globally exposed.”

Signing of a Specific Memorandum of Understanding

Provided that our college has a program of scholarships to France (ARFITEC) since four years ago, UNSE aims to support students in order to be prepared in French language. In this context, at the same Friday, in afternoon hours, was signed a Memorandum of Understanding with French Alliance so that UNSE students assigned to participate in this scholarship program, could pursue courses in French language with a discounted stipend. Moreover, was reached an agreement in mutual actions between professors and students and organization of meetings, workshops, seminars, congresses or any other cultural event.

This agreement was signed by the director of French Alliance (AF), Mrs. Laura Yagüe, the Dean of FCEyT, Ing. Hector Paz, the president of the Directors Commission of AF Celia Gutierrez and the Delegate of the AF Foundation in Paris Bruno Simonin. While at the end of this working visit, was organized a warm farewell ceremony for the French guests.
