Representatives of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technologies were present in a Workshop of Universities, in the framework of the Business Mission 2016 Italia-Argentina, which took place on 17 and 18 May, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
In the day on Tuesday, is developed a bilingual seminar, in which lectured by Argentina: the Minister of Science and Technology Lino Barañao, the President of the CONICET Alejandro Ceccatto, the Secretary of University Policies Albor Cantard and the President of the CONFEDI Sergio Pagani; while by Italy: the President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) Roberto Battiston, the Director General of the System Country, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Italian Vincenzo De Luca, the Vice Chancellor for the Internationalization of the Polytechnic of Turin, in representation of the crui (rectors of Italian universities) Bernardino Chiaia, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto; were moderated by Joseph Kenny, Added Scientist of the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires.
During the seminar, presented the different institutions which the exhibitors represented, and the work they are doing with regard to internationalization. In general, all the speakers agreed on the need to strengthen the internationalization of Engineering, and also mentioned the need for future, with engineers who have a vision more managerial or business, also in the case of the President of the CONICET, stressed the need to deepen the research activity in engineering.
The following day, there was the 'workshop' itself, during which the representative of our Faculty met with an envoy of the University La Sapienza (Rome), to initiate the first talks in order to realize the mobility between the two institutions.
It is worth mentioning that our Faculty, in compliance with the third axis of the Strategic Plan for training of engineers: the Internationalization of Engineering, has recently created the area of Interinstitutional Relations and International Cooperation; the same is in charge of Mg.
